Parchment paper - Ryusanshi

Japanese: 硫酸紙 - りゅうさんし
Parchment paper - Ryusanshi
A thin, translucent paper made by treating paper made from rag pulp or chemical pulp with concentrated sulfuric acid, then rinsing and drying it. It is tasteless and odorless, and is resistant to oil and water. It is also called parchment paper because its appearance resembles parchment. Pseudo-sulphate paper is a paper made by beating sulfite pulp into a highly viscous form that is somewhat resistant to oil, or a paper made by coating high-quality paper with an oil-resistant agent, but it does not look like sulfuric acid paper. Both sulfuric acid paper and pseudo-sulphate paper are used for packaging butter, cheese, etc.
