Turmeric isomatsu - Turmeric isomatsu

A shrub-like perennial plant of the Plumageceae family (APG classification: Plumageceae). The stems are curved, stiff, black, and 10-30 cm tall. The leaves grow in clusters at the ends of the stems, are spatula-shaped, 1.5-6.5 cm long, 2-10 mm wide, and the base of the petiole spreads out to embrace the stem. The flower stalk is erect, and the flowers on the stalk are about 4 mm long, yellow, facing one way, and endemic to Amami and Okinawa, where they grow on limestone on the coast. A variety is Pinus isoensis.

イソマツ科(APG分類:イソマツ科)の低木状多年草。茎は屈曲して硬く黒色、高さ10~30センチメートル。葉は茎端に束生しへら形、長さ1.5~6.5センチメートル、幅2~10ミリメートル、葉柄基部は広がって茎を抱く。花茎は直立し、花柄上の花は長さ約4ミリメートル、一方を向き黄色。奄美(あまみ)、沖縄固有の植物で、海岸の石灰岩上に生育する。変種にイソマツがある。
