A knowledge system based on the unique views of nature held by various cultural spheres around the world. Also known as ethnoscience. In the past, there was a strong tendency to view only modern Western science, which originated in Europe, as a universal knowledge system, but in recent years this has been reconsidered, and the idea that science specific to each ethnic group can exist has been advocated. Examples include Eastern medicine, such as acupuncture and moxibustion. This way of thinking arose from the importance of understanding the unique perceptions of nature and life of each ethnic group.
