Inbokodobo National Movement - Inbokodobo National Movement

...Sobhuza II (1899-1982), who ascended to the throne in 1921, attempted to recover the land that had been taken by the whites, but was unsuccessful. Influenced by the independence of many African countries in 1960, a constitutional conference was held in 1963, and then a general election was held the following year under the new constitution, in which the Imbokodobo National Movement, led by the king, won a landslide victory. In 1967, the country gained internal autonomy, and on September 6, 1968, it became independent as the Kingdom of Swaziland, a constitutional monarchy with Sobhuza II at the throne.
