Intsuji Temple

...The southern part is a hilly plateau that is used for farmland, while the northern part of the Hatahoko River basin has a relatively wide plain that is used for rice paddies. Indoji, the center of Iki, was a key transportation point during the Ritsuryo period and was one of the fishing villages of Iki Hachiura in the early modern period, but developed as a port town after the Meiji period. Currently, there is a ferry service between Iki and Yobuko in Saga Prefecture, and together with Iki Airport, located about 2.5 km to the east, it has developed as the gateway to Iki that connects it to the Kyushu mainland.
