In India, the theories of the Nyaya and Vaisheshika schools are considered representative of pluralism. These schools advocate the theory of the inexhaustible cause, which holds that effects do not exist latent within causes, and therefore that effects appear anew, completely separate from their causes. This theory is called "neo-creationism" and is in sharp opposition to the "emanationism," which holds that the world flows from one or two principles.

From the Vaisheshika School

...Even if we attain liberation, our ego does not become one with Lord Shiva. This school asserts the theory of causation, which says that the result does not exist in the cause (cause and effect are not present in advance). Therefore, according to them, something completely different from the cause is created as a result.
