He lived in Nara and for generations, under the name Edoya, served the shogunate as a supplier of armor and cuffs. The armor he made to order for Tokugawa Ieyasu's dream was used in the Battle of Sekigahara, which led to a major victory, and so he made new armor every time a new shogun came along.
