Wierzyński, K.

...The main movements were Expressionism, Futurism (B. Jasienski, Anatol Stern (1899-1968), etc.), the Krakow Avant-Garde (Tadeusz Peiper (1891-1969), J. Przybosz) which praised urban technological civilization, and the Second Avant-Garde (Czesław Miłosz (1911- ), Jósef Czechowicz (1903-39), etc.) which expressed a premonition of impending catastrophe in the 1930s. The Scamander group, which was anti-modernist and advocated the "poetry of everyday life" while keeping its distance from the avant-garde, produced some of the greatest poets of the period, including J. Tubym, Antoni Słonimski (1895-1976), Kazimierz Wierzyński (1894-1969), and Iwaszkiewicz. W. Broniewski, a proletarian poet who continued the tradition of romanticism, was also close to this group.
