Born: May 30, 1908 in Fukuoka [Died] March 17, 1984. Tokyo Broadcasting System writer and playwright. His real name was Takasaki Hideo. After graduating from Kokugakuin University, he joined the literary department of the Moulin Rouge in 1932, where he wrote scripts under the name Ima Uhei. In 1940, he wrote the script for Japan's first television drama, Before Dinner, which was broadcast on NHK Television. After World War II, he changed his name to Ima Harube and became a consultant for NHK, gaining popularity with his radio drama series The Three Houses Across the Streets (1947-53) and other dramas. In 1956, he received the NHK Broadcasting Culture Award, in 1961 the Arts Festival Encouragement Award for East of the Country, and in 1964 the Mainichi Arts Award. He also wrote many plays, including Cherry Chronicles (1967). He was a disciple of Orikuchi Shinobu, had a deep knowledge of folklore, and was also a poet.
