A hot spring in Minakami Town, Gunma Prefecture. Bitter spring containing gypsum. 43℃. Legend has it that Kobo Daishi discovered this hot spring, and in the Edo period, six villages made arrangements for bathing fees. It is located at the southeast foot of Mikuni Pass on the Joetsu border, along Nishikawa, a tributary of the Akatani River, and has long been known as a hot spring resort due to its proximity to the Mikuni Highway. 群馬県みなかみ町にある温泉。含石膏苦味泉。43℃。弘法大師の発見という所伝があり，江戸時代には湯銭の取決めなどを６ヵ村で行っている。上越国境の三国峠南東麓，赤谷川支流西川沿いにわき，三国街道に近いため古くから湯治場として知られた。上越新幹線上毛高原駅，上越線後閑(ごかん)駅からバス。
