Inukurogwai - Inukurogwai

...It is rarely cultivated in Japan. This Chinese giant water log is a cultivated plant bred by the Chinese from a different species, white water log, also known as Inukuroguwai (E. dulcis Trinius), which is very similar to the Japanese water log found in China, India and Southeast Asia. The original white water log grows wild in Japan on the Kii Peninsula, Fukuoka Prefecture and Okinawa Island, but it is unclear whether it is native or was brought from the south by migratory birds or the like.
