A protectorate treaty signed between France and Morocco on March 30, 1912. The sovereignty and government (mahzan) of the Sultan of Morocco were nominally retained, but real power over not only foreign affairs and military affairs but also domestic affairs was held by a governor-general appointed by the French government. Together with the Madrid Agreement of November of the same year (which determined the territories under Spanish and French rule), this treaty paved the way for the colonial rule of Morocco. It was abolished on March 2, 1956, and Morocco regained its independence. [Miyaji Kazuo]

1912年3月30日，フランスとモロッコの間で調印された保護領条約。モロッコのスルタンの主権と政庁(マフザン)は名目上残されたが，外交と軍事だけでなく内政についても実権はフランス政府の任命する統監が掌握することになった。同年11月のマドリード協定(スペインとフランスの支配地域の確定を定めた)とともに，モロッコの植民地支配の道を開いた条約である。56年3月2日に廃棄され，モロッコは独立を回復した。【宮治一雄】
