Inabatsu - Inabatsu

...The temple ruins, known as the site of Enichi-ji Temple, have been designated a national historic site. Among the religious customs surrounding Enichi-ji Temple and Mount Bandai, one known as Inabatsu is noteworthy. This custom, called Ogashira and Kogashira, involves going around villages carrying a wooden spear with a curved handle to collect the first fruits of the harvest. It has been sustained by the authority of Enichi-ji Temple and the faith of the people living at the foot of the mountain in Mount Bandai.
