Inaniwa

A district of Yuzawa City in the southern part of Akita Prefecture. The former Inaniwa Town merged with Kawatsura Town and Mitsunashi Village in 1956 (Showa 31) to become Inaniwa Kawatsura Town (renamed Inagawa Town in 1966), and was merged into Yuzawa City in 2005 (Heisei 17). It is said that the Onodera clan built Inaniwa Castle during the Kamakura period. During the Edo period, it was a post station on the road that crossed Kurikoma, and is also known as the birthplace of Inaniwa udon noodles.

秋田県南部、湯沢市の一地区。旧稲庭町は1956年（昭和31）に川連町(かわつら)、三梨村(みつなし)と合併して稲庭川連町（1966年稲川町と改称）となり、2005年（平成17）湯沢市に合併。鎌倉時代には小野寺氏が稲庭城を築いたという。江戸時代には栗駒(くりこま)越えの街道の宿駅であり、また稲庭うどんの産地としても知られる。
