Symptoms similar to seasickness occur when one is exposed to the effects of weightlessness for a long period of time, and include dizziness, nausea, sweating, and drooling. Soviet cosmonaut GS Titov was the first to suffer from it while flying on Vostok 2. Just as some people are more susceptible to seasickness than others, there are individual differences in space sickness, and symptoms also vary. It is thought to occur when the gravity sensors in the otolith organs stop working when one is exposed to weightlessness.
