Ethylene dibromide. Its name is derived from the initials of ethylene dibromide. Its chemical name is 1,2-dibromoethane. It is a colorless liquid. Its boiling point is 131.6°C, and it is poorly soluble in water but soluble in organic solvents. It is used to exterminate nematodes in soil, as a fumigant, and as a gasoline additive. It is a highly toxic substance.
