During the Heian period, it was held among the nobles, but in the Muromachi period, it generally came to mean a drinking party where each person contributed money. 〘名〙 酒、肴(さかな)を参会者がめいめい一種ずつ持ち寄って開く宴会。また、その肴。平安時代、殿上人の間に行なわれたが、室町時代には一般に各人が金を出しあい催す酒宴をいうようになった。いっしゅもの。※日本紀略‐康保元年（964）一〇月二五日「是日於二左近陣座一諸卿有二一種物一」
