...The outline of the compilation policy is known from the preface of the Kōnin Kakushiki (included in Ruiju Sandai Kaku), which is a selection of individual kakushiki from 701 (Taihō 1) to 819 arranged by government office. The revision work continued after that, incorporating new regulations from 820 onwards, and in 840 (Showa 7) it was published as Kaizō Iro Kōkakushiki. At present, both the kaku and the shiki are almost lost, and the only remaining kaku are an excerpt from the catalog entitled Kōnin Kakushō and those included in Ruiju Sandai Kaku, and the shiki are fragments of Shikibu Shiki Ge and Shūze Shiki Jo, as well as fragments quoted in various books. ...
