...A squirrel with several bright stripes on its back, found widely in India, Malaya, Sumatra, Borneo, etc. A general term for mammals in the genus Funambulus , family Sciuridae, order Rodentia, and there are five species, including the Indian palm squirrel F. palmarum and the Northern palm squirrel F. pennanti . It looks similar to a chipmunk, but has a slightly longer tail and tends to live in trees.
