Socialism in one country - Ikkokushakaishugiron (English spelling) sotsializm vodnoi strane
The theory advocated by Stalin that it was possible to build socialism in Russia alone
This is an idea first put forward by Stalin in On the Foundations of Leninism in May 1924. In Marxist theory, the construction of socialism was thought to be realized by the seizure of power by industrial workers in advanced capitalist countries. The success of the Russian Revolution raised the issue of constructing socialism in less developed countries. As revolutionary trends were declining in the advanced countries of Western Europe, it was argued that a vast country like the Soviet Union could construct socialism on its own. As a result, the conflict with Trotsky, who advocated the socialization of the entire world, over the theory of constructing socialism intensified.
