A small evergreen fern of the family Pteridophyceae. When young, it produces single pinnate leaves from a tuberous rhizome, and as it grows larger, it produces bundles of bipinnate leaves. The lobes are ginkgo-shaped. The sporangia are linear and gather in the center of the lobe. It is rarely found on limestone in mountainous areas throughout Japan.
