The chest washed up on the island of Seriphos, where the two were taken in by the brother of the island's king, Polydektēs. Later, while Perseus, now an adult, was away on royal orders to slay the female monster Gorgon, Danae was seduced by Polydektēs and found herself in a difficult position, but Perseus returned alive and showed the king the head of Medusa, turning him to stone. …
