Monobasic Acid - Ithienxan

An acid that contains one H atom per molecule that can neutralize with a base (can become a hydrogen ion). Examples include hydrochloric acid (HCl), nitric acid (HNO 3 ) , perchloric acid (HClO 4 ) , hypochlorous acid (HClO), iodic acid (HIO 3 ) , hydrofluoric acid (HF), acetic acid (CH 3 COOH), formic acid (HCOOH), palmitic acid (C 15 H 31 COOH), stearic acid (C 17 H 35 COOH), and benzoic acid (C 6 H 5 COOH).
