A small resort town in northern New Hampshire, USA. It is located in the White Mountains, about 30 km east-southeast of Littleton. It is known as the place where 44 Allied nations met in July 1944 during World War II to discuss how to rebuild the world economy after the war. As a result of this conference, it was decided to establish the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD, commonly known as the World Bank), which would serve as the centers of international finance.
