…In 1679 (Enpo 7), at the age of 13, he served Ichijoji Junsho in Ise Province, and the following year he shaved his head under Chinmai at Kanshin-in in Owari. At the age of 17, he ascended to Mount Hiei and lived at Saito Kimi-in Temple, studying Tendai Buddhism. In 1684 (Jokyo 1), he became a disciple of Myoryujizan, and after his death, he served Reiku Koken at Anraku-in Temple (now Anraku-ritsu-in). He succeeded Reiku as abbot in 1706 (Hoei 3), and when Toei-zan Jonyo-ritsu-in Temple was founded, he expressed his gratitude to Edo Castle, and when Nikko-san Koun-ritsu-in Temple was founded, he went there to draw up its rules. …
