Aborigine - Aborijin

Japanese: アボリジン - あぼりじん
Aborigine - Aborijin

...refers to the indigenous people who lived on the Australian continent without writing, before the Chinese and Europeans arrived (1788). Both the government and private sectors used to call them Aborigines or Aboriginals, but in recent times the term "indigenous people" has begun to be used officially. Furthermore, the Torres Strait Islanders, who are of a slightly different race and culture, and the Oceanian Islanders who previously arrived (excluding the Maori of New Zealand), are also lumped together as Australian Aboriginals in administrative and daily life terms.
