Battle of Algiers

...As shown in the movie "The Old Casbah," the Casbah of Algiers is seen by Europeans as a den of criminals and a tourist destination that satisfies exotic tastes. However, for Algerians, it is a town that became the base of the national movement, as shown in the movie "The Battle of Algiers," and a spiritual home that retains the original form of an Islamic city. There are plans to redevelop the area, which has become a slum, but since it is a town with such ambiguous value, how to harmonize development and preservation is a major issue.
