An old town in the northern part of Oshima, Oshima District, Yamaguchi Prefecture. The main settlement is the administrative center of the district. The area is rich in mandarin oranges, with large terraced mandarin orchards and a processing factory. The area around Mount Monju belongs to the Setonaikai National Park. In October 2004, it merged with Oshima District's Oshima Town, Towa Town, and Tachibana Town to form Suo-Oshima Town. 23.12 km2 . 4,431 people (2003).
