Genzo Ishimura

...Some of these still exist, but there is some disagreement as to exactly how many generations of shamisen are included. The first was a Kyoto native called Ishimura Genzo (also called Genza or Genza), who was said to have received the title of Omi no Kami. The second, Omi Genzaemon (dharma name Jyohon Shinji), went down to Edo, and he is called the "Edo founder Jyohon Omi."
