...This disease was reported in 1937 by Turkish dermatologist Hulusi Behçet (1889-1948), and its main symptoms are hypopurulent iritis, oral aphthae, and genital ulcers. In Europe and the United States, it is treated as a syndrome, but in Japan, it is treated as an independent disease. It is an autoimmune disease in which not only the three main lesions mentioned above, but also various other lesions appear repeatedly throughout the body, and the disease progresses chronically. Of these, the four main lesions, namely oral and genital aphthous ulcers, skin symptoms such as erythema nodosum-like rash, and eye symptoms such as thrombophlebitis and hypopurulent iritis, are present in the complete type, while those lacking one or two of these lesions are called incomplete type. ...

…1937年にトルコの皮膚科医ベーチェットHulusi Behçet(1889‐1948)が報告した疾患で，前房蓄膿性虹彩炎，口腔アフタ，陰部潰瘍を主徴とする。欧米では症候群syndromeとして扱われるが，日本では独立疾患として扱われている。自己免疫疾患の一つで，上記の3主要病変だけでなく，全身に多彩な病変が反復して表れ，慢性の経過をたどる。このうち，口腔と陰部のアフタ性潰瘍，結節性紅斑様皮疹などの皮膚症状，血栓性静脈炎，前房蓄膿性虹彩炎などの眼症状の4主要病変のあるものを完全型，1～2の病変を欠くものを不完全型という。…
