Also called clapping or opening hands. A method of worship in front of a shrine. In ancient times, it was performed at Imperial Court ceremonies, when gifts and offerings were given, and when eating and drinking among the general public. There are two, four, and eight clapping hands, and clapping eight times is called yahirade. There is also a short clapping style called shinubide, which is a short clapping style.
