Mr. Harada

Japanese: 原田氏 - はらだうじ

A powerful clan in northern Kyushu in ancient and medieval times. Original surname Okura. Said to be descendants of Okura Haruzane, the pursuit envoy of Fujiwara no Sumitomo, but there is no definite proof. The first Okura clan official was Dazai Daikan Tanezai, who played an active role in the Toi invasion in the 11th century. The position was passed down hereditarily, and in the mid-12th century, Tanehira also served as Kebiishi (police officer), expanding his territory through military force, and his family was appointed as Kiyokanshi (police officers). His son Tanenao supported the Taira clan, with his bases in Harada-sho in Ito County and Iwato in Naka County, and was appointed Dazai Gon Shoni in 1181 (Yōwa 1). He played an active role in the Jisho-Juei civil war as the foremost official in northern Kyushu.

古代，中世の北九州の豪族。本姓大蔵氏。藤原純友の追捕使大蔵春実の裔とするが確証はない。11世紀，刀伊の入寇に活躍した大宰大監種材が府官大蔵氏の初見。以後，大監を世襲し，12世紀中ごろ，種平は検非違使執行を兼ね，武力で所領を拡大し，一族は拒捍使（きよかんし）に任じられる。子種直は怡土郡原田荘，那珂郡岩戸を本拠に平家方人となり，1181年(養和1)大宰権少弐に任命され，北九州随一の府官として治承･寿永の内乱に活躍した。
