Born on February 3, 1875. Studied Chinese classics under Hasegawa Akimichi and was supervised by Ueda Kazutoshi at the Tokyo Imperial University Selection Course. Served as a professor at Gakushuin for 33 years from 1904 and was known for his research on ancient Chinese history and calendar systems. Died on September 27, 1954. Age 79.
