1925‐ American journalist. Born in New York State. After dropping out of the University of Southern California, he went to Paris and made his mark as a columnist for the Paris edition of the Herald Tribune, writing "Paris by Night." In 1962, he returned to the United States and lived in Washington, D.C., where he has a column called "Art Buchwald" in nearly 200 newspapers and magazines. His opinions on all aspects of society are witty and insightful, and in 1957 he won the French Grand Prix de la Humor. He is the author of many books, including "Buchwald's Paris" (1954).
