...In 1591 (Genchu 8, Meitoku 2), they had a dispute with merchants at Yodo Fish Market over sales rights. While Yodo merchants wholesaled salted goods, they had the right to sell fresh produce such as shrimp, crabs, and shellfish to wholesalers in Kyoto that could be transported relatively far away, but they were not allowed to sell directly in Kyoto except at the Gion Festival. In 1516 (Eisho 13), they also had a dispute with Awazuza in Goshu (Shiga Prefecture), but the Muromachi Shogunate stipulated that Awazuza would only sell in stores, and Imamiya Jinnin would only sell in the above-mentioned style.
