〘Noun〙 (meaning an eboshi hat that has been folded by the wind) An eboshi hat with the peak folded diagonally to the left or right. The left fold is for the jige , and the right fold is for the retired emperor when wearing kariginu. In the early modern period it was made formally from paper, with wrinkles and a black lacquer coating. Hire-eboshi (flat eboshi hat) . Kazaori. *From Kurumayahon Nohkyoku, Soshiarai Komachi (around 1570): "Each person asked Komachi to perform a dance, and they all stood up and asked her to wear a flower-covered eboshi hat with a wind-broken eboshi."
