[Died] June 28, 572. King of Verona Lombard (reigned 565-572). He allied with the Avars to annihilate the Gepid Kingdom, and married its princess Rosamund. At the time of his accession, his territories included Noricum and Pannonia (present-day Austria and western Hungary), but in 568 he conquered northern and central Italy up to the Tiber River and established the Lombard Kingdom. He forced his wife to drink from her father King Gepid's skull, as per national custom, and was assassinated by her.

ランゴバルド王 (在位 565～572) 。アバール人と同盟してゲピート王国を全滅させ，その王女ロザムンドを妻とした。即位当時はノリクムとパンノニア (現オーストリアと西部ハンガリー) を領土としたが，568年テベレ川までの北・中部イタリアを征服してランゴバルド王国を建設。国の慣習に従い，妻に父ゲピート王の頭蓋骨で酒を飲むことを強いたため，それを恨んだ妻によって暗殺されたという。
