Amidaji Temple (Wakayama)

...The indented coastline, the rough waves of the Kumano Sea, the caves and strange rocks, and the offshore islands create a scenic spot known as "Kino Matsushima," and are part of Yoshino-Kumano National Park. In the northeastern part of the town, there are Kumano Nachi Taisha (Kumano Taisha), one of the three Kumano shrines, Seiganto-ji Temple, the first temple of the 33 temples of the Western Provinces, and Myoho-san Amida-ji Temple, also known as "Women's Koya," forming a major sacred site. Meanwhile, Katsuura, overlooking Nachi Bay, is home to Katsuura Onsen, one of the hot spring resorts in southern Kii, making it a town of faith and tourism.
