Prince Kagosaka - Prince of Kagosaka

Japanese: 麛坂皇子 - かごさかのおうじ

A son of Emperor Chuai who appears in the Kojiki and Nihonshoki.
His mother was Princess Onakatsuhime, the daughter of Hikohito no Oe. According to the "Nihon Shoki," after the death of Emperor Chuai, he was in conflict with the crown prince (later Emperor Ojin) born to Empress Jingu in Tsukushi over the throne. Together with his younger brother Prince Oshikuma, he plotted to kill the empress and the crown prince, and held a prayer hunt in Togano to see whether the plan would be successful, but was killed by a red boar. In the "Kojiki," he is known as King Kosaka.

記・紀にみえる仲哀天皇の皇子。
母は彦人大兄(ひこひとのおおえ)の王女,大中姫(おおなかつひめ)。「日本書紀」によれば,仲哀天皇の没後,神功(じんぐう)皇后が筑紫(つくし)で生んだ皇太子(のちの応神天皇)と皇位をめぐって対立。同母弟の忍熊(おしくまの)皇子とともに皇后,皇太子を討とうと計画,菟餓野(とがの)でその成否をうらなう祈狩(うけいがり)をしたが,赤猪にくい殺されたという。「古事記」では香坂王。
