Bregmatic presentation

This is a type of fetal position abnormality, and is the mildest vertex position. Fetal position refers to the position of the fetus. In a normal fetal position, the back of the fetal head, i.e. the fontanelle, is the furthest forward during delivery, and the baby's chin is against the baby's chest. This is called vertex or occipital presentation. In vertex position, the baby's chin is away from the baby's chest, and when the parietal, forehead, forehead and chin are forward, they are called vertex, frontal, brow and face presentation, respectively. In delivery with these vertex positions, the surface through which the fetal head passes is longer than in a flexed position, making it difficult for the baby's head to pass through the birth canal.

胎児の胎勢異常の一種で，最も軽い反屈位である。胎勢とは胎児の姿勢のことで，正常胎勢の場合は，分娩にさいして，児頭の後頭部すなわち小泉門が最も先に進み，児のあごが児の胸部についている。これを屈位，後頭位という。反屈位は児のあごが児の胸部から離れている場合で，頭頂部，前頭部，額部およびあごが先進しているのをそれぞれ頭頂位，前頭位，額位および顔位という。これら反屈位の分娩では，児頭が通過する面が屈位よりも長く，産道が通過しにくくなる。
