Also known as the Primordial Buddha. The Buddha who began to be worshipped in India during the final stage of the formation of esoteric Buddhism in Mahayana Buddhism. The Buddha is said to be the cause of the creation of the world, and is characterized by the theistic view of Hinduism. This belief was spread to Nepal and Tibet. 原初仏ともいう。大乗仏教の密教形成期の最後の段階においてインドで信仰されはじめた仏陀。世界生成の原因であるとされる仏陀で，ヒンドゥー教の有神論的見解が顕著である。この信仰はネパールやチベットに伝えられた。
