skomorokhi

...Domra is an old name, but the current instrument was restored in the 19th century and is also known as the Russian mandolin. It is known that in the past, wandering musicians called skomorokhi owned many instruments, but they became extinct in the mid-17th century after being suppressed by the church. A rich collection of folk songs has been handed down.
