Frame structure - frame structure
A type of building structure. It is made up of vertical members such as pillars and beams, and horizontal members such as beams and girders. Traditional Japanese wooden construction is also of this type. It is relatively easy to remodel or dismantle, and allows for large openings.

建物の構造形式の一種。柱・束(つか)などの垂直材と梁(はり)・桁(けた)などの水平材で構成される。従来からある日本の木造(もくぞう)もこの形式。改造や解体が比較的容易で、大きな開口部をとることができる。
