Oshio [Hot Spring] - Oshio

...It is surrounded by mountains on three sides and lies along the Reisenji River, a tributary of the Uchimura River. Together with Kakeyu Onsen and Oshio Onsen (simple spring, 40°C), it forms the Maruko Onsen Village. It is said to have been discovered by Taira no Tomomori in the Heian period, and in the 9th century, Reisenji Temple was built in honor of the hot spring, and it is said to have developed as a temple bath.
