This is a settlement site from the late Yayoi period that spreads over 2000 m2 from the Kakeyama area to the Sagisaka and Goshainari areas of Kozakai-cho, Hoi-gun, Aichi Prefecture. It is located on the Toyokawa river terrace, about 7 m above sea level. Since its discovery in 1927, it has been investigated by Seino Kenji, Hisanaga Haruo, the Toyohashi Historical Society, and others. Long trenches, numerous dwelling sites, and mainly brackish shell mounds are distributed over several points, and are divided into Kakeyama, Sagisaka, and Goshainari. Excavated items include a large amount of pottery, chipped and polished stone axes, bone arrowheads, bone and horn harpoons, antlers with inscriptions, and clay weights.
