...One of the Sufi orders (tariqas) founded by Abū Isḥāq (?-940) from Chisht near Herat in northwestern Afghanistan. The Sufi orders in Central Asia had a great influence on India and Western Asia, but the Chishti sect's full-scale activity in India began when Mu'in al-Din Sijzī (1142?-1236) established a khanqah (monastery) in Ajmer, southwest of Delhi, at the end of the 12th century. *Some of the terminology explanations that mention "Abu Ishaq" are listed below.
