A town in the Seine-Saint-Denis department in northern France. A suburban city 5 km northeast of Paris. Population 11,021 (1982). To the north of the town is Le Bourget Airport. The airport was established in 1914 and is famous for being the place where Lindbergh landed after crossing the Atlantic in 1927. When Charles de Gaulle Airport began operation (1974), passenger transport functions were greatly reduced. An international aviation fair is held here every two years.
