Le Bourget

Japanese: ル･ブールジェ（英語表記）Le Bourget

A town in the Seine-Saint-Denis department in northern France. A suburban city 5 km northeast of Paris. Population 11,021 (1982). To the north of the town is Le Bourget Airport. The airport was established in 1914 and is famous for being the place where Lindbergh landed after crossing the Atlantic in 1927. When Charles de Gaulle Airport began operation (1974), passenger transport functions were greatly reduced. An international aviation fair is held here every two years. To the south of the town are the aircraft industry, as well as machinery, electrical equipment, and other manufacturing industries.

フランス北部，セーヌ･サン･ドニ県の町。パリの北東5kmにある近郊都市。人口1万1021(1982)。町の北にル･ブールジェ飛行場がある。飛行場は，1914年に創設され，27年には大西洋を横断したリンドバーグがここに着陸したことで有名。ド･ゴール空港の使用開始(1974)に伴い旅客輸送機能は大幅に縮小された。2年に1回，国際航空機フェアがここで開かれる。町の南には，航空機産業をはじめ，機械，電気機器などの製造業がみられる。
