Leaving one's address without permission and going astray is also called disappearance, running away, or running away from home. In general, it refers to a man and woman who are in love with each other and who secretly run away to another place. In the Edo period, it was also called michiyuki, borrowing a term from the theater. For a marriage to be established, not only the consent of the parties involved but also the approval of the relevant society is required, and the first step is usually to obtain the approval of both parents and relatives. If this approval cannot be obtained, and the parties are strong-willed, they will elope after various negotiations in order to fulfill their wishes.
