Mount Yubari - Yubari only

Japanese: 夕張岳 - ゆうばりだけ
Mount Yubari - Yubari only

It is the main peak in the center of the Yubari Mountains in central Hokkaido. Its elevation is 1,668 meters. The hard rocks of the Kamuikotan group are exposed over 100 meters above the ridge of the Yubari Mountains, and its unique shape has led to it being deified and used as a navigational target since ancient times. There are hiking trails from Oyubari in Yubari City and from Kanayama Station on the JR Nemuro Main Line, but these are recommended for those with good walking skills. Near the summit there are flower fields with Yubari-sou and Yubari-kozakura. In 1996, the "Alpine Plant Community and Serpentine Melange Zone of Mt. Yubari" was designated a national natural monument.
