Anesaki Chofu

Religious scholar and critic. His real name was Masaharu. Born in Kyoto. Professor at Tokyo Imperial University. He was friends with Takayama Chogyu and was also active in art criticism. His works include "Fundamental Buddhism" and "The Rise and Fall of Christian Missionary Works." He lived from 1873 to 1949 ( 1873-1949 ). 宗教学者。評論家。本名は正治。京都生まれ。東京帝国大学教授。高山樗牛(ちょぎゅう)と親交があり、芸術評論にも活躍した。著「根本仏教」「切支丹伝道の興廃」など。明治六～昭和二四年（一八七三‐一九四九）
