Religious scholar and critic. His real name was Masaharu. Born in Kyoto. Professor at Tokyo Imperial University. He was friends with Takayama Chogyu and was also active in art criticism. His works include "Fundamental Buddhism" and "The Rise and Fall of Christian Missionary Works." He lived from 1873 to 1949 ( 1873-1949 ).
